Nancy Schiller, a native of Michigan, says she is one of the "fortunate few" who truly loves her profession and can't imagine her life any other way. As a licensed Interior Designer for 42 years, Nancy has devoted the best of herself to her clients and their project.
Nancy specializes in new construction and renovation. "I love to catch the project from the blue print stage forward." Nancy believes that every detail must be considered which requires planning ahead. Electrical could then coordinate with the furniture layout. Traffic flow can be determined, and window placement of an inch or two can be critical. Selecting plumbing fixtures, flooring, granite and even door knobs at the beginning stages can save the client huge amounts of money and reassure that there will be "no surprises" and "no mistakes."
Being very hands on is a vital to a project's success. Being the eyes, ears and mouth of the client is the responsibility of the interior designer on the job site. Developing a good working relationship with architect, builder, and craftsman is also important.
"I have the opportunity to do magic for my clients" says Nancy. That magic starts with good listening skills and translates into a home that reflects the client's individual desires and lifestyle.
Over the years, Nancy had designer interiors for homes both large and small, country club interiors, restaurants, and numerous other commercial properties while still finding the time to donate her design skills to worthwhile causes such as the Ronald McDonald House. "I believe everyone's self worth grows when you find time to use your expertise to do for others."
